Brooke Reading

Brooke has done very well in school this year. She is suppose to be in Kindergarten, but I did first grade with her because I was afraid she would be bored. I think I made the right choice. She is doing wonderful.

Thanksgiving Feast

Little Indian Girl
Mrs. T and 5 of her students.
Reagan and Brooke

We went to Brooke's school for a Thanksgiving Feast. I have to say it was delicious. The school went out of their way to make it nice. Each child brought something to help with the feast. We had Ham, corn, green beans, cream potatoes, dressing, and pumpkin pie. The food was so good. I felt a little bad for this one child. It seemed like every child had somebody there with them to enjoy the feast. This one little boy did not have anybody. Courtney sat by him and tried to talk to him. I made a special effort to talk to him. It broke my heart to see all the children with somebody except this little boy. There was probably 40 children. This one little boy's parents came up about the time everybody was through eating. It was also 20 minutes until the children had to leave for the day. They might of had to work or something. I don't know their circumstance, but it really bothered me to see this little fellow by himself.
We had a really nice time. Brooke was thrilled that we made it for her feast. I appreciate the effort that Kevin puts into being there for the girls. Kevin had worked all night and he was so tired. I told him not to worry about coming. He would not hear of it. He told me that he went for Courtney's things and he would not miss Brooke's. Kevin has always went with me to the girls Doctor's appointments, and most of their school things. I appreciate the time he takes for the girls. I know after working all night it would have been easy to just came home and went to bed. Brooke was so happy that her daddy was there for her.

Thanks Kevin, you are the best.

Hat Day, Tie Day

This week was Hat Day, Tie, Day, and PJ's Day, at Brooke's school. Brooke did not make it for PJ day. I fixed her a hat for hat day and a tie for tie day. Brooke helped a little bit. Hope you like them. Ignore the date on the pictures. My camera messed up, and the dates wrong.

Preschool

Brooke looks a little scared.
Waiting for mommy.
I think she is happy, but a little unsure.

My baby started preschool today. I was a little sad, but I think this is best for Brooke right now. I am hoping it will help her to not be so clingy to me. I was scared that Brooke would not go, but she was very excited. When I told her about the class she was jumping up and down that she was getting to go to school. I told her that mommy would not be staying and she was fine with that. She would say, "I am going to school, all by myself."

Today was her first day. When we first got there Brooke seemed very scared. Brooke's teacher is black. Brooke seemed very scared of her. Brooke has not been around black people very much at all, so I don't know what was going through her mind.
I wanted to get a picture of Brooke with her teacher, but Brooke would not do it. I did not want to press the issue, because I did not want her to cry. I was able to snap a picture of Brooke's teacher, but it did not turn out good. Brooke looks a little mad in the picture.
When I picked Brooke up she seemed very happy and wanted to go back tomorrow. The only negative thing she said was that it was to hot when they played outside and she did not like that. I ask if she liked her teacher and she just shrugged her shoulders. I guess time will tell. She met some new friends, but of course Brooke was to shy to talk to them.:(

Brooke also had to get shots today. She had to have three shots because she was not caught up and she had to have them for school. She cried, but did pretty good. Please pray that she will not have bad side effects. Normally she has terrible side effects with very high fevers. God moved the last time, and I know he can again.

Courtney and I went to the park today and we did school there. We had a nice time. It was a small park and nobody was around us. We was able to get school done fast. HMMMM maybe we need to do this everyday.
